Our Wines

The art of winemaking is a lot like life – a rich mosaic of flavors, textures, aromas and experiences. Sourced from estate vineyards situated along the coastal region of Monterey County, California, the wines of mō zāik deliciously express their origin.

Sustainably Farmed

Our commitment to sustainability is backed by our use of drip irrigation, cover crops, and low impact farming methods in the vineyards, and a state-of-the-art winery designed to reduce energy usage and cut waste. Both our vineyards and winery are officially certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, a statewide certification program that provides third-party verification of a winegrower’s commitment to continuous improvement and the adoption and implementation of sustainable winegrowing practices.

  • Estate Vineyards

    Our 12 estate vineyards are located along a 70-mile spread of the Salinas Valley, encompassing four primary climate zones. The unique geography of Monterey County and the diversity of our estate vineyards allow us to grow many different varieties in a spectrum of styles, and each of our varietals is planted in the location that is best-suited to expressing the highest quality for that grape.

Monterey AVA

The Monterey AVA (American Viticultural Area), a designated California wine grape-growing region, encompasses nearly 46,000 acres of vineyards along 90-miles of the Salinas Valley.

This sizable and climatically diverse region is defined by morning fog, strong winds, cool temperatures and abundant sunshine. The cooling effect of the chilly marine air allows grapes to ripen more slowly and evenly, leading to exceptional wines that exhibit intense fruit flavors, deep color extraction, and full varietal expression.

Sauvignon Blanc

Aromas of grapefruit and hints of fresh herbs lead to a fresh and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc that offers flavors of juicy stone fruit, grapefruit and citrus with a crisp, clean finish.

winemaking notes

Mozaik Sauvignon Blanc blends both cool-climate and warm-climate Sauvignon Blanc grapes to create a perfect balance of herbal components and stone fruits. Our Sauvignon Blanc is aged in stainless steel for six months for crisp and refreshing mouth-feel.

Our Sauvignon Blanc pairs perfectly with lighter fare including salads, delicate fish dishes and light chicken dishes, particularly those with a citrus or herb component.

Chardonnay

Smooth and balanced, this Chardonnay leads with aromas of green apple and pear. Pineapple, white peach and citrus flavors follow with subtle oak notes and a nuance of vanilla.

Mozaik Chardonnay is aged 25% on new French oak for 12 months, for a tasteful nuance of vanilla and a medium body.

pairing notes

Our Chardonnay pairs well with creamy soups, shellfish, fatty fish like salmon and tuna, pasta dishes (particularly with a cream sauce) and lighter chicken dishes.

Pinot Noir

Medium-bodied with soft tannins, this graceful and balanced Pinot Noir showcases aromas of black cherries and raspberries, and extends a flavor profile of red cherry, plum and pomegranate with hints of toast and spice.

Mozaik Pinot Noir is aged 25% on new French oak for 12 months, imparting notes of mocha and vanilla for a medium-bodied, balanced Pinot Noir.

pairing notes

Our Pinot Noir pairs well with a wide range of foods, such as salmon, duck, herbed chicken and turkey dishes, rabbit, pork and lamb. Dishes with earthy elements such as mushrooms and truffles also pair deliciously.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Rich and complex, our Cabernet Sauvignon offers powerful black fruit aromas on the nose. Blackberry, cassis and mocha flavors are backed by soft, silky tannins.

winemaking notes

Mozaik Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for 12 months on American and French oak (30% new) for subtle oak notes and hints of fresh tarragon, cedar and mocha. The oak also creates a welcoming, soft tannin structure and a medium-bodied wine.

pairing notes

Our Cabernet pairs well with an array of meat-focused dishes such as short ribs, steaks and burgers, as well as grilled lamb, brisket, stews and roasts. Also pairs well with salami and aged cheeses such as gouda and cheddar.
